The Standing Stones on Rothbury Hill

The Inn Way to Northumberland is a circular walk that takes in the lush valleys of the River Coquet, the wild landscape of the Cheviot Hills, and the stunning, castle-laden coastline that stretches from Warkworth to Bamburgh.

The walk was devised by a Mr Mark Reid, who has written an extensive guide to the route. In the guide it is 94 miles long, but we were to find it a little longer due to our slight deviations along the way. There are 48 notable Inns on the route, but that was not why we found it to be longer than outlined by Mr Reid!
